I just started subscribing to your podcast. The "snippets" format is a little annoying to say the least. The name leads to believe that your whole format is along the lines of Incognito and the like. Prince (I have been a listener of his since the late 70's) and Kirk Franklin (I have his latest as well) are not smooth jazz artists!! Once again, I appreciate the exposure to different genres, but I couldn't listen to it everyday and the fortnight (two weeks to us USA blokes) makes it tolerable. If you could have one show with COMPLETE songs, I would shut the bloody H*&% up!!!

Thank you from an "ugly American."

Thanks for the feedback.
I'm actually a Doc & the Prof, well that's his nickname!
Agreed on the Kirk Franklin but sometimes its good to view aspects of diversity.
In terms of snippets Vs complete songs - Our view is that we're just reminding you of the good sounds that are out there, some forgotten. In terms of the newies, well we're simply encouraging / exposing fresh sounds. You have to admit that the fasttrack review is unique and by no means an easy job. Lets give the Prof some credit for his dedication. Its easy to be critical - all we want to do is provide some positivity back into the world - Our time on this earth is limited - lets enjoy the opportunity we've been given to unite!

Thanks again for the feedback,
We, like many contributors to the internet, enjoy the freedom to be anonymous. We had great fun thinking up the names.
We grew up enjoying soul, funk jazz-funk, disco and more recently what we have come to know as smooth jazz. Our podcast show is a bit like us meeting in each others houses as kids checking out each others records.
It is rather fustrating for us to only be able to play snippets, but this is due to issues of compliance
rather than choice.
When buying records on line you get
to hear snippets for free and this
seems to be allowed . So we have based our podcast on this model.
However it is hoped that the snippets will serve as reminders,
samples, or even suggestions of what listeners might like to look for in the cd shops.

The music we play is very much a part of our personal histories and
may be for others. Hence we also consider the podcast as a 'memory show' - we even slip in the odd TV or movie theme! I hope you can put up with the snippet format, and perhaps it might even help you to dig up that old dusty record or
buy a great cd - then you can have
the whole tune as often as you like!

All the best and we appreciate your subscription and contribution
...Professor Smooth
